The 36 Political Elevation Group (36 PEG), a non-partisan political advocacy organisation, has announced a comprehensive strategic repositioning to enhance its contribution to Nigeria’s electoral process and democratic consolidation.
Speaking at the unveiling of
the programme in Lokoja on Thursday ,the Director-General of 36 PEG, Hon. Chief Sanmi Oluleye, said the new framework was designed to strengthen the group’s operational capacity and improve engagement with political stakeholders ahead of forthcoming elections.
According to Oluleye, the reforms are the outcome of extensive consultations carried out under the directive of the group’s President, Prince Dan Olaitan Dada, and reflect 36 PEG’s commitment to deepening democratic values and supporting accountable leadership through free and fair elections.
He stated that 36 PEG’s participation in elections is guided by formal agreements with candidates and parties, with a focus on mobilising diaspora voters and facilitating voter registration and transfers in line with INEC guidelines.
The Director-General also disclosed the group’s support for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State (APC), Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State (Accord Party), and Bashir Omolaja Bolarinwa of Kwara State (APC), citing 36 PEG’s grassroots mobilisation strategy as a key factor in its past electoral successes.
