The Institute of Leadership Coaching and Strategy (ILCS) has been admitted as a corporate member of the International Federation of Training and Development Organisations (IFTDO), United Kingdom.

The development was announced by the President and Chairman of Council of ILCS, Dr. Olasunkade Azeez, FILCS, who also serves as the Registrar and Chief Executive, in a press statement made available to journalists in Abuja on Monday

According to Azeez,ILCS is a multidimensional professional body established as an offshoot of the Chartered Institute of Leadership, Policy and Strategy (CILPS), United States of America. It was incorporated on September 19, 2022, and subsequently registered in Nigeria on December 1, 2024.

He said the Institute was founded with the mandate to regulate and promote responsible and disciplined leadership, capacity building, and effective strategic frameworks for good governance. Its focus includes advancing justice, equity and fairness in society through research, advocacy and professional development across all strata of society for the benefit of humanity.

He added that the IFTDO accreditation forms part of ILCS’s broader strategy to affiliate with reputable global professional bodies, strengthen its international standing, and enhance national development. The affiliation is also expected to expand members’ professional growth through global certifications, networking opportunities and capacity-building initiatives.

ILCS also maintains affiliations with the IFTDO Africa Confederation and the National Council for the Centre for Management Development (NCMD).

The global IFTDO membership offers a wide range of benefits to ILCS members, including access to an international network of thought leaders and capacity development professionals; participation in global conferences and high-level networking platforms; access to research materials and learning resources via the IFTDO Digital Hub; discounts on the ROI Institute’s Return on Investment Boot Camp; and membership of the Centre for Talent Development, Measurement and Reporting, which provides access to a comprehensive measures library and interactive workshops.

“These advantages translate into enhanced learning resources, stronger leadership networks and increased global visibility for our members,” the statement noted. “We are excited to leverage this partnership to strengthen our programmes, expand research collaboration and advocacy, and deliver greater value to our members as they contribute to national development,”he said.

IFTDO is a global network that brings together leaders, human resource professionals, and learning and development experts from over 25 countries. Established in 1972, the organisation has remained at the forefront of innovation, inclusion and impact in workforce development across public and private sectors worldwide.

Its mission is to empower the global human resource development community by fostering collaboration, enhancing networking and promoting knowledge sharing, while connecting top global leaders and HR practitioners through a robust platform designed to drive sustainable impact.
