Breaking: Kogi Kidnap Victims Freed — MDA

Five citizens of Magongo community in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area of Kogi State, who were abducted at about 8 p.m. on Monday have regained their freedom after five days in captivity.

The National President of the Magongo Development Association (MDA), Prince Jordan Akpata, confirmed their release in a telephone interview with Correspondent of The Reporters on Friday evening, from Magongo,stating that they were freed at about 5 p.m.

Prince Akpata, who said full details of how the victims were rescued would be disclosed later, confirmed that they have since reunited with their families.

He expressed profound gratitude to security agencies and all individuals who contributed to securing their release.

Our Correspondent recalls that the victims were kidnapped a few kilometres from Magongo while returning from Jos, Plateau State, where they had attended a wedding ceremony.
