The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Monday intensified his grassroots political outreach with a strategic engagement of key stakeholders in Adavi Local Government Area, signaling his administration’s commitment to deepening local participation in governance.

In a statement signed on Tuesday by Ismaila Isah, Special Adviser on Media to the governor, said the event was held at the Adavi Local Government Secretariat in Ogaminana.

According to him it brought together traditional rulers, political leaders, youths, and women groups in a well-attended forum aimed at reinforcing political alignment between the state government and the local populace.

The Governor’s media aide added that the interaction forms part of Governor Ododo’s broader political strategy to consolidate his administration’s presence at the grassroots and strengthen the ruling party’s influence ahead of future political contests.

Governor Ododo, who earlier inspected ongoing road projects in the area, reaffirmed his administration’s focus on inclusive governance and local empowerment, through the deliberate engagement of indigenous contractors, artisans, and suppliers.

“We are building more than just infrastructure, we are strengthening the political and economic fabric of our communities by involving them directly in the development process,” the Governor said.

He praised the people of Adavi for their peaceful coexistence and political unity, urging them to maintain the tempo to attract more state-backed projects and sustain their relevance in the state’s political calculations.

In his remarks, the Executive Chairman of Adavi LGA, Hon. Bashir Rasheed Okatengwu, hailed Governor Ododo for what he described as “a people-first leadership style,” citing key interventions in road infrastructure, education, security, and political appointments as evidence of the administration’s grassroots sensitivity.

The forum also featured a symbolic presentation of financial support by local leaders to boost community development efforts,an action seen as a gesture of political solidarity with the Governor.
