By Dada Ahmed in Lokoja.

The Governor of kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged Muslims in the state and global to use the opportunity to strengthen their bonds as a people and work together for the continued progress and unity of the state.

He gave the advice in his Ramadan message to the people of the state in Lokoja on Saturday and a copy made available to The Reporters.

Ododo wrote: ” As we welcome the blessed month of Ramadan, I extend my heartfelt greetings to the Muslim Ummah in Kogi State, across Nigeria, and around the world.

” Ramadan is a sacred time of reflection, devotion, and self-discipline. It reminds us of the virtues of patience, sacrifice, and generosity; values that strengthen our faith and foster a spirit of compassion for those in need.

” During this Holy Month, I encourage all citizens of Kogi State, regardless of faith, to embrace the spirit of love, peace, and mutual respect that Ramadan represents. Let us use this opportunity to strengthen our bonds as a people and work together for the continued progress and unity of our dear state.

” I also call upon my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters to dedicate this period to fervent prayers for the peace, security, and development of Kogi State and our beloved nation, Nigeria. May our acts of kindness and charity reflect our shared commitment to uplifting one another, especially the less privileged among us.

“As we observe fasting and engage in spiritual purification, let us remember that true devotion is not only in abstaining from food and drink but also in showing compassion, promoting justice, and fostering harmony within our communities.

” May Allah (SWT) accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds. May He grant us the strength to emerge from this Ramadan spiritually renewed and more united as a people.

“Ramadan Kareem!
