,,,,, Authorities Issue Fire Safety Warning.

A five-year-old boy has inadvertently set a five-bedroom duplex on fire in a shocking incident that unfolded in the heart of Ilorin, Kwara State, on Monday evening.
The blaze, which could have resulted in a devastating catastrophe, broke out at around 5:32 p.m. at Abiodun Adebiyi Close, located off Yidi Road in the Irewolede area of the city.
According to the Kwara State Fire Service spokesperson, Hassan Adekunle, the fire was ignited when the young boy, who had been playing with matches, carelessly dropped a lit matchstick onto a combustible surface.
The resulting fire quickly grew out of control.
He said the fire service rushed to the scene after receiving an emergency call and discovered that one room in the five-bedroom house had already been completely consumed by flames.
According to Adekunle,the quick actions and professionalism of the fire crew, contained the blaze and prevented from spreading further to other rooms or neighboring buildings.
Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, Director of the Kwara State Fire Service, praised the firefighters’ swift response and commended them for their tactical expertise in managing the dangerous situation.
He, however, issued a stern warning to the public, stressing the importance of fire safety.
“One careless match can destroy everything.It is critical that parents secure matches and other dangerous items away from children, as this could have easily turned into a tragic event,”Olumuyiwa cautioned.
The director ,who said that the fire service has continued its investigation on the development, urged all residents to take immediate steps to ensure their homes are safe from fire hazards.
