By Correspondent in Lagos.

In a harrowing incident on Saturday, two men tragically lost their lives after accidentally falling into a dangerous diesel reservoir in Lagos’ Oregun area.

The victims, both adults, were working along the Ikosi-Oregun Road when the first man slipped into the perilous tank.

In a desperate bid to rescue his companion, the second man also plunged into the toxic liquid.l and paid the supreme price for displaying humanity.

Our correspondent gathered that emergency responders, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), were alerted at 10:37 a.m. and quickly rushed to the scene.

However, despite swift first aid and immediate transportation to the hospital, both men succumbed to their injuries and gave up the ghost.

The grisly discovery, confirmed by LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, has sparked an ongoing investigation as authorities assess the scene to prevent future tragedies.

The area has since been secured, but the cause of the fatal accident remains under scrutiny.
