,,,,, Aims to Empower Zone C Residents Amidst Criticisms.

By Correspondent in Minna.

In a move to address the criticisms surrounding his political career, Senator Abubakar Sani Bello, representing Niger-North, has launched a significant skills acquisition initiative. Despite facing backlash during his tenure as Governor, particularly for his handling of infrastructural development and alleged promotion of religious and gender biases, Bello has now focused on empowering his constituents.
The senator facilitated the training and distribution of starter packs to 177 individuals, including women and youth, from eight Local Government Areas within Zone C. The initiative, aimed at fostering self-reliance and sustainable economic growth, covered various trades such as tailoring, hairdressing, carpentry, painting, and catering.
Bello’s initiative comes amid growing concerns over his leadership, with critics often comparing him unfavorably to his late father, Colonel Sani Bello, known for his philanthropy and inclusive policies. However, the senator remains committed to uplifting the living standards of Zone C, emphasizing that the empowerment efforts align with broader federal strategies for equitable development.
Expressing their gratitude, the beneficiaries, represented by Mr. Mohammed Yusuf, pledged to use the skills gained to improve their living conditions, highlighting the potential long-term impact of the programme.
