Haliru Nababa, Controller General,Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), has lauded retired Deputy Controller General (DCG), Tosin Akinrujomu for his exceptional character, dedication, and commitment to service.
Nababa’s commendation came during a valedictory session and dinner held in Akinrujomu’s honor on Thursday in Abuja.
Represented by DCG Sylvester Nwakuche, Head of Training and Staff Development, Nababa praised Akinrujomu’s inspirational leadership qualities, noting his ability to motivate others.
He described Akinrujomu as a model of excellence with a calm demeanor and fearless spirit.
“Akinrujomu’s leadership has been a beacon of hope for the younger generation. His passion for justice and commitment to duty are qualities worth emulating. He is known for his integrity, dedication, and relentless support for his colleagues,” Nababa stated.
He added, “As you enter retirement after a meritorious career, remember that life is just beginning a new chapter. Embrace it with joy, and may peace and happiness be your companions.”
Nababa urged aspiring leaders to emulate Akinrujomu’s virtues, emphasizing the importance of hard work, resilience, and faith. “To succeed, one must remain focused, expand capacity, and trust in God’s plan,” he advised.
In his farewell remarks, Akinrujomu, who also holds the traditional title of Akogun of Omuo-Ekiti Kingdom, shared his journey of dedication and leadership, underscoring the importance of commitment to service and community.
“As a seasoned service member and decision-maker, I worked tirelessly for progress, in collaboration with my colleagues,” he said.
He encouraged young officers to uphold integrity, transparency, and resilience, adding, “Stay focused, work hard, and tomorrow will be better than today,” he further urged the officers.

Akinrujomu, born on October 10, 1964, in Ondo State, joined the service on April 30, 1990, as an Assistant Superintendent of Prisons and retired in 2023 as DCG.
