ODA Plans Grand Reception/ Prayer for Governor Ododo, Political Leaders From Okengwen extraction.

The Okengwe Development Association (ODA) inaugurated a 26-member Central Organizing Committee (COC) on Sunday to plan a grand reception and prayer event for Kogi State Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The event will also honour notable dignitaries, including HRM Alhaji Dr. Ahmed Tijani Muhammed Anaje, the Ohinoyi of Egbiraland, and other political appointees from Okengwe-Ehi.

During the inauguration in Lokoja, ODA President General Dr. Ahmed O. Yusuf emphasized that the event aims to express gratitude to God for His blessings and to remind leaders of their commitment to good governance for the welfare of the Okengwe-Ehi community.

Dr. Yusuf , represented by the Secretary of the committee,Dr. Haroun Opotu Yussuff, also highlighted the contributions of former Governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello and his appointees to the development of Egbiraland.

The reception is scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the Ohinoyi of Egbiraland’s Palace in Okene.

Dr. Yusuf expressed confidence in the committee members, selected for their experience and dedication to Okengwe’s progress, to ensure the event’s success.

The committee has Dr Abdullahi Sani Ozomata as Chairman.

Other members of the committee are:Hon. Ali Bello Atimpo – Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Hon. Kashim Ododo – SA to Gov on Domestic Affairs, Rt Hon Momohjimoh Lawal – Former Speaker, Kogi State, Dr Prince George O. Bello – Coordinator, Mrs H.O.K. Lawal and Mrs Hannah Odiyo.

Others include Hajia Lami Lawal,Alhaji Ojo Ohila,
Hon Zakari Yusuf (Nescafe), Alhaji Usman Lawman, Mr Gabriel Omuya Ibori, Alhaji Adams Sheidu Tinko, Mal Idris Lawal, Mr David Ohinoyi, Engr S.O. Salami, Co-Coordinator,
and Arch.Sadiq Ogido.

Also included in the committee are:Hajia Hon.Khadijat Aliu (Jarumi Aso), Alhaji Kayode Mamman, Mal. Isa Sule Dania, Mal Ohinanyi Bello, Engr.Salawu Shaibu, Mal.Aliu Ochaju, Mal.Salihu Omadivi Mohammad ,
Alhaji Dada Ahmed and Dr.Comrade Dr Haroun Opotu Yussuff as Secretary.

Highlight of the occasion was the setting up of two sub-committees on Finance and Contact/Publicity with Mrs.Hannah Odiyo heading that of finance while Dr.Haroun Opotu Yussuff heads Contact and Publicity Committee.

Our correspondent reports that Okengwe Development Association, which has a long history of community development efforts to show,was formed in 1930.
