The Police Command in Nasarawa State has deployed security operatives to Shabu and surrounding areas in Shabu Development Area of the state, to rescue the Madaki of Shabu, Alhaji Musa Shuaibu, from kidnappers.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident to journalists in Lafia. He stated that the command has mobilized personnel to ensure the safe rescue of the Madaki and the arrest of the kidnappers, who will be brought to justice.

Our correspondent learned that the kidnapping occurred in Shabu, the headquarters of the development area around 8 p.m. on Thursday, near the victim’s residence. Sources reported that the kidnappers, arriving in large numbers, forced the Madaki to an unknown destination shortly after he observed his Isha’i prayer near his home.

Speaking on the condition of anonymity, a source expressed regret over the incident, noting that it has thrown the Shabu community into confusion. The source described Madaki Shabu as a peace-loving and kind-hearted individual known for his generosity and inclusivity, regardless of tribe or religion.

The source called on the Nasarawa State government and security agencies to intensify their efforts to ensure the Madaki’s safe return.

Feelers from the family of the Madaki indicate that the kidnappers have not put telephone call on them as at the time of this report on Saturday evening, as the practice with kidnappers.
