Reference hospital, Okene carries out over 100 surgeries in 4 months -CMD.

The Chief Medical Director,CMD, of the 250-bed capacity Reference hospital, Okene, Kogi State, north central Nigeria, Prof.Solomon Avidime,says the hospital has carried out over hundred surgeries,handled over a hundred safe deliveries and performed other medical services
within 4 months of his assumption of duty.
The CMD,who made the disclosure while addressing staff at an end of year programmr at the hospital premises, promised that the hospital would offer more quality health services in 2024 and to Serve as Teaching Hospital For CUSTECH Medical Students.
Prof.Avidime, who acknowledged the role played by all the staff for the successful running of the health facility, through hard work and commitment to duty, urged them to sustain the tempo in the new year,assuring them that there would be more job opportunities as soon as the hospital expands it’s operations.
According to him, medical students from the Confluence University of Science and Technology, (CUSTECH), Osara would not have to go far for clinical practices, adding that the hospital would work in collaboration with the institution to provide such services.
The CMD, expressed optimism that availability of modern state-of- the art facilities would aid their training.
He called on well-to-do individuals from Egbiraland to support the hospital to boost its efforts in rendering services to the indigents in need of dire medical attention through payment of their bills.
The CMD expressed appreciation to the Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello for the establishment of the hospital as well as the recruitment of staff, assuring that they would justify government huge investment in the medical facility.
In their various goodwill messages,the Vice Chancellor of the Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara, Prof Abdulrahaman Asipita, the member representing Okene/Ogori-Magongo at the House of Representatives, Ahmed Ozigi Tijjani among others commended the CMD and his Management team for a job well done within a short time in office.
They urged the staff to continue to give their total support and cooperation to the CMD and remain committed to duty for the hospital to attain greater heights.
High point of the occasion was presentation of Award of Excellence to the CMD in recognition of his service to humanity.
The Reporters reports that the hospital is one of the numerous “legacy projects” of the government of Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello which is warming to hand over the mantle of leadership of the state to the next government of Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo,the governor-elect, on January 27, 2024.
