The Ohiku Egbira Descendants Union,OEDU,has commiserated with all sons and daughters of Egbira Nation,at home and in Diaspora,on the demise of their revered Royal Father,HRM Dr.Ado Ibrahim.
OEDU offered the condolences in a statement signed by Hon.Musa A.Ahmadu and a copy made available to the The Reporters in Lokoja on Sunday.
OEDU specifically extended condolences to the immediate Royal family members, Governor Yahaya Bello,the Kogi state traditional rulers Council,Egbira Opete and the entire good people of Kogi state.
According to the union,the Nation has indeed, lost a man of many parts;in business, in philanthropy,in leadership and communal matters as well as peaceful coexistence in his immediate domain and the Nation at large.
The union said that the late HRM, Dr. Ado Ibrahim would be remembered for the many positive legacies,from his enthronement as Ohinoyi of Egbiraland on 2nd of June 1997.
It added: “Till the very end, HRM was a staunch believer in the Unification of all Egbiras, from Miyakan,Etuno and Opete,located in FCT,Nasarawa,Edo and Kogi states, giving birth to today’s common name and identity;EGBIRA !
“OEDU salutes HRM’s courage and wisdom in bringing peace, unity and development not only to Egbira Nation and Kogi state but the entire nation.
“HRM was a recipient of the national honour;’Commander of the order of the Niger’ (CON) in 2006 and had in his life time being conferred with many Associations,societies,organisations and universities awards.
“Those awards were no doubt a confirmation of the dynamic leadership qualities of HRM.
Ahmadu said though,the Ohiku Egbira Descendants Union was saddened by the recent development, the Union is, however, consoled by the fact that HRM lived a worthy,elegant and exemplary life to be emulated by this generation and future generations of Egbiras.
“The Ohiku Egbira Descendants pray that The Almighty Allah grant HRM Aljanah fidrausi.
In similar development, Prince Mohammed Atojoko, President/ Chairman, Council Association of Nigerian Muslim Authors Inc says the kogi state and Nigeria at large have lost an exceptional royal father.
“It is with a heavy heart that I commiserate with the family of the late Ohinoyi of Ebiraland and the entire Ebira nation over the demise of the highly revered Royal Father and Kogi State Chapter Patron Association of Nigerian Muslim Authors,HRM Dr Ado Ibrahim, CON.
“May the Almighty Allah grant him Aljanah Firdaus,” he prayed.
