,,,,Frees 20 inmates, vows to justify mandate given him in march

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state Sunday has increased stipends to the vulnerable from N5, 000 to N7,500 monthly as part of the state government measures to cushion the effect of the subsidy removal.
He also granted pardon to 20 inmates of the correctional service in Nasarawa
Sule in a statewide broadcast to mark the Nations’ 63 Independence and the 27th Nasarawa creation said government had concluded plans to expand the scope of some benefits to the people of the state in view of the hardship Nigerians were facing.
Sule as part of the activities marking the 27th anniversary of the state granted pardon to 20 prison inmates, in line with the constitutional provision, as well as the prerogative of mercy.
Governor Sule who vowed to justify the mandate given to him for another term in office by the people of state, reiterated the commitment of his administration to improve the living condition of the Nasarawa people through the initiation of more schemes that would impact positively on the people as he settled down for the next tenure.
“My dear compatriots, in our commitment to improve the living condition of our people, we have initiated the Nasarawa State Cash Transfer Scheme, where beneficiaries receive the sum of N5,000 as stipend on monthly basis. This programme has been impactful and uplifted the living condition of the poor and the vulnerable citizens in the State.
“I am happy to inform you that Government is making deliberate effort to expand the scope of the beneficiaries and we have increased the stipend to the sum of Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Naira (N7,500.00) only monthly”.
While highlight the achievements of his administration, Governor Sule pledged to consolidate on the commitment of his administration to turn around the fortunes of the state through the provision of infrastructural development, attract investments, agricultural, educational advancement, public service transformation, amongst others.
He emphasized that the celebration of the creation of the state would not be complete without paying tribute to the founding fathers of the state who sacrificed their time, resources and energy towards ensuring the creation of Nasarawa State.
As Nigeria celebrates her 63th independence anniversary, State at 27, Sule called on the people to support the efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose administration is also consolidating on building sustainable development, peace and economic prosperity across the country.
“Let me, on behalf of the Government and people of Nasarawa State, congratulate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and, indeed, all Nigerians on the occasion of the 63rd Anniversary of our nationhood, congratulate the people of Nasarawa State on the 27th Anniversary of the state creation,” the governor stated.
For Nasarawa at 27, the Governor reminded the people about the collective desire for self-determination, economic empowerment and social cohesion that was the motivating factors for the state creation. He promised to leverage on the contributions of successive administrations towards realizing the dreams of the founding fathers of the state.
On the planned strike action by the NLC to protest the hardship being experienced by Nigerians following the subsidy removal, the Governor appealed to the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) to shelve its intended industrial action, as both the Federal and State governments are strategizing towards addressing the plight of workers.
He said that his administration has taking measures to promote all cadres of civil servants, including backlog payment of sequentially addressed with the corresponding financial implication being religiously worked out for implementation, in order to avoid further accumulation.
