FRSC:Unit Commander,Geregu unit calls for collective responsibility to curb road accident

The Unit Commander,RS8.35 Geregu Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps,FRSC, Assistant Corps Commander Saratu Odi, has called on the people to see the need to curb road accident in the country as a collective responsibility..

She stated this on Friday in her address of welcome during the flagging off of the Embers month campaign at NURTW LION CLUB PARK(ASCO BUMP) AJAOKUTA.

According to her, rroad safety is a collective/ shared responsibility, adding that all road users need to play their roles towards enhancement of road safety.

Our Correspondent reports that the theme of this year Embers month campaign flag off is “Avoid Speeding,Overloading and Unsafe Tyres to Arive Alive”.

ACC Odi noted that the Embers Month were characterised by increased social and economic activities resulting in increased vehicular traffic.adding that the increase in vehicular traffic usually come with traffic encumbrances of crashes, obstructions and jams.

The unit commander called on all road users to ensure that they keep to the rules and regulations of traffic to reduce carnage on road

According to her, the Flagg off of the 2022 Embers month in the area, which focussed on speed, overloading and use of unsafe tyres, marked commencement of intensified public enlightenment against unwholesome road traffic behaviors.

ACC Odi said the Command was committed to its mandate of crash prevention, assuring that it would carry out the function professionally.

Important signatories at the occasion include;thr Kogi State Sector Commander,FRSC, Corps Commander Stephen E Dawulung, represented by SRC Kadiri Usman(SMVA).

Members of the traditional institution that also graced the occasion are:
HRH Alhaji Saliu Adaji Ochuli, Onu of ITOBE, who was the Special Guest of Honour, HRH, Prince Mustapha Ayanba,the Ag. Onu of Ajaokuta.the Area Commander, NPF,Ajaokuta, ACP Ayodele Arogbo,represented by ASP Nuhu Vandu, the State Deputy Auditor NURTW,Comrade Abdullahi Yakubu.

Others are: the NURTW Chairman,Lion Club Unit(Asco Bump), Malam Ismaila Adams,NURTW Chairman ITOBE,ably represented by Com Mudi Kadiri,Abdulmalik Musa-Chairman Motor Cycle Association ITOBE, Chairman Motor Cycle Association Asco Bump,ably represented by Ahmed Yahaya,among others.

The Onu of ITOBE cut the tape to signify the flagg off of this year Ember Months Campaign, after which fliers were shared to the motorists as show.
