In a decisive move to strengthen security across Yagba land, the member representing Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Leke Abejide, has launched a special security initiative code-named “Operation No Mercy for Terrorists.”
Our Correspondent reports that the operation is aimed at flushing out criminal elements and restoring lasting peace in communities across the constituency, which have witnessed rising security concerns in recent times.
At the launch, Hon. Abejide inaugurated 30 operational motorcycles and three fully equipped security patrol vans to boost surveillance, routine patrols and rapid response across Yagba East, Yagba West and Mopamuro Local Government Areas.
The lawmaker also unveiled a special security task force known as the Lion Squad, which will spearhead the implementation of the initiative.
According to him, the squad will work closely with conventional security agencies to confront kidnapping, armed robbery and other criminal activities threatening the safety and livelihoods of residents.
Hon. Abejide reaffirmed his commitment to the protection of lives and property, stressing that security remains a top priority for sustainable development across the constituency.
Our Correspondent reports that the area concerned has been hit by the activities of bandits in recent time, having been chased out of neighboring states, especially Kwara and Niger.
