Thousands of commuters have been stranded along kotonkarfe axis of Lokoja-Abuja Road gridock hit the road due to flood that submerged substantial part of the the road, The Reporters reports.
Our Correspondent, caught up in the gridlock on Monday as at about 8.35 p.m, reports that the low and high personalities were among the stranded commuters.
According to the victims include a one time Governor, whose state shares border with kogi state but asked not be pictured and name not to be printed.
He said:”Lokoja-Abuja highway before, river Niger bridge, in total lockdown.
No going or coming.
” The grid lock starts from Kotonkarfe end of the bridge where flood has taken over the road and town.
” I sighted a former Governor in a marathon trek to beat the traffic.
“The former labour leader abandoned his convoy to do the needful.”
Meanwhile, our Lokoja correspondent gathered that the flood in the area showed sign of receding on Monday with some victims expressing cautious delight on the development.
