The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security across the state through sustained collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

Governor Ododo gave the assurance on Thursday when the new Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Lokoja.

The visit, he said, coincided with that of the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), focused on enhancing synergy between the state government and security agencies to ensure peace, stability, and community development.

Governor Ododo commended the efforts of the Police Command and other security formations in maintaining law and order across the state, pledging his administration’s continued support for effective policing, logistics, and intelligence-driven operations.

In his remarks, CP Kankarofi expressed appreciation to the governor for his unwavering support to the Police and other security agencies.

He briefed the governor on recent security initiatives, crime-prevention strategies, and forthcoming community-policing programmes aimed at fostering closer ties between the police and residents.

The Commissioner also highlighted the need for enhanced intelligence sharing, inter-agency collaboration, and community participation in the fight against crime.

Both the governor and the police commissioner expressed optimism that their renewed partnership would further strengthen public safety and promote sustainable peace and development in Kogi State.
