The Kogi State Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria,(PFN), Bishop Theophilus Bako, has described himself as “brother and friend of the muslims in Nigeria.”
He stated this on Friday while speaking at the launch of Ade-Bada Foundation International in Lokoja.
The religious leader, who was the chairman of the occasion,who spared time to speak on the need for religious harmony between Christians and Muslims in the country, said christianity and Islam preached unity and love, among their respective adherents.
Bishop Bako, who expressed delight over the turn out of many muslims at the occasion organised by Mr Ade Bada,a pastor, said the development was an indication that the adherents of the two predominant religions in the state cherished and practised peace and religious harmony.
He called on the christians and Muslims to enhance the tempo of peaceful co-existence in their sermons, for the development of the state and the country in general.
Later in an interview with the Correspondent of The Reporters, the Bishop called on his colleagues to continue preaching to followers the need to eschew religious disharmony for the country to overcome its critical problems.
Commenting on the launch, the Bishop commended Bada for demonstrating that there is ability in disability, by seeing his unfortunate circumstance as a challenge to inspire others in similar condition to enable them contribute to the development of the society.
Our Correspondent reports that the occasion also marked the launching of a book, titled,”Daring the Storms”, written by Ade-Bada,a visually Journalist and cleric based in Lokoja.
