DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) for the Police Command in the state who disclosed this in Yola said that John was arrested following a tip-off.

He said that the suspect lured her victim from Michika to Mubi, with a view to selling him to ritualists, adding that it was in the process that he was arrested by the police.

“She took the little boy to Mubi to sell but when she could not reach the buyers on phone and decided to search for another buyer. She ended up talking to a wrong person who in turn informed the police and he was arrested,” the police image maker further revealed.

Nguroje further explained that a friend told the suspect she could make money by supplying children to ritualists and human traffickers.

He, therefore, urged parents to watch the movement of their children with keen interest and vigilance and report persons with suspicious movement to the nearest police authority or any security agent, promptly, for quick response.
