The Governor of Borno State,Prof.Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved N50 million grant, ambulance, drugs, and other medical facilities to Sunni Hospital, a private based hospital,Maiduguri towards increasing the capacity of private health institutions in the state to complement Government’s healthcare delivery.

Zulum announced the donation on Wednesday when he paid an inspection visit to a hospital located in Abbaganaram area of the metropolis.
Our Correspondent gathered that Sunni is a private community-based hospital built by a Maiduguri-based businessman, Alhaji Tijjani Bolori,who died by the end of 2021.
Governor Zulum, who also offered six medical doctors and nurses to the hospital, asked its management to recruit two doctors and four nurses, to boost their staff strength, adding that the State Government would shoulder the monthly salaries and other entitlements of the six medical personnel while they remain the staff of Sunni hospital.
âSubmit requirements for us to shoulder the payment of two medical doctors as well as the nurses. I will imshaâAllah give approval of the payment of their salaries,â Zulum said.
The Governor also paid tribute to the late founder of the hospital.
âI am delighted to be here,to see things for myself, but let me pay a tribute to late Alhaji Tijjani Bolori for the wonderful things he did in his lifetime. Bolori has touched almost all the sectors of human capital development; in healthcare services and education among others. We pray that Almighty Allah will admit him into Jannatul Firdausâ Zulum added.
In a related development, the Governor has given greenlight for the remodeling of the Maiduguri eye hospital and ordered the construction of new staff quarters and operation theater, to serve the increasing healthcare needs of the State.
