The Chairman,Nigeria Union Journalists(NUJ),Kogi State Council, Alhaji Adeiza Momohjimoh, has louded the Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaha Bello for the efforts of his administration in ensuring infrastructural developmnt of the state.

The council Chairman, who gave the commendation on Saturday at the NUJ Press Centre,Lokoja, during the Congress of the council, mentioned the recent rehabilitation of roads and the ongoing construction of flying over all in Lokoja to butress his point.

Momohjimoh called on the governor to look into other roads such as Sango daji in Lokoja begging for attention of the state government.

He, however, frowned at the attitude of the governor’s media aides, noting that the development had created serious barrier between Journalists and the and the governor.

Momohjimoh, who described Bello and a nice and compassionate human being, expressed the commitment of the council to break the barrier, to ensure seamless relationship between him and the local Journalists

He expressed optimism that the breaking of the barrier, when achieved, would enhance the reportage of the activities of the state government by men of the fourth estate of the realm in the state.

Our Correspondent recalls that the governor recently assisted a member of the Correspondents’ chapel of union with N2.5 million to settle the medical bills of his wife who was involved in a ghastly motor accident on Kabba-Okene road in the state.

In their contributions, members of the council called on the state government to increase the funding of its media organizations, to enable them function effectively.

A member of Radio Kogi chapel of the union, Pst Gowon Edibo, relying on information from the management of the radio, told the congress that the state government had given greenlight for the supply of two transmitters to enable the radio come back on air.

The online publication recalls that the radio has been off the air for the past five months.

Our Correspondent reports that highlight at the congress was the vote of confidence passed on the chairman, who is running his second term in office, and members of his executive council by members.
