Ovye Yakubu, a Lafia-based resident in Nasarawa state, is now cooling it off in police cell for allegedly harmmering his wife, Esther,to death during a misunderstanding over fixing of window net.
The Police Public Relations Officer( PPRO) for the Police Command in the state, Ramhan Nansel, who confirmed the incident on Saturday in Lafia, said the tragic event happened on Friday at Sabonpegi-Shabu, a suburb of Lafia, the state capital.
The police image maker added that the suspect was arrested on Friday, following receipt of the report of the incident by the police, adding that investigation had commenced to unearth the cause of the incident while the remains of Esther had been deposited at the morgue, awaiting post-mortem examination.
However,family sources said the suspect took the life of his wife, sequel to an argument over the engagement of a carpenter, by the deceased, to fix net of their window.
Yakubu was alleged to have vehemently opposed the action of his wife but the wife insisted that her action must be,hence the violent quarrel that ensured between them during which the husband was said to have hit Esther with harmer, a development that led to her death.
