The Nasarawa State Governor, Engr.Abdullahi Sule, has has challenged the people of the state to burry their religious differences and embrace peaceful co-existence in order to enhance the rapid development of the state.
The Governor stated this in Lafia on Saturday at the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected executives of the Christian Association of Nigeria,(CAN) Nasarawa State Branch.
Represented by his Special Adviser on Youths and Sports Development, Yakubu Kwanta,Sule who explained that Nasarawa State was among few states in the Northern Nigeria with minimal level of insecurity, attributing the developmnt to the harmonious living of residents of the state.
He noted that without peaceful co-existence amongst the people of the state, it would be difficult for government to take development to several communities across the state, reminding the people that no society could develop in a crisis- ridden atmosphere.
The governor appealed to the people to pray for the success of his administration.
Engr. Sule then announced a whooping donation of N10 million to the association to anable it take off smoothly.
He urged the new CAN executives to work with the fear of God while in office as well as ensure constant prayers for the success of his administration.
The CAN executives whose tenure will be four years, were inaugurated by the CAN Chairman of the 19 Northern states in the country, Rev. Joseph Hayab.
In his acceptance speech on behalf of other elected officials, the State CAN Chairman, Very Reverend Sunday Emmah, appreciated Christians in the state for entrusting the executives with the privilege to serve the state.
