Thousands of civil servants, artisans and other road users are currently stranded on the ever busy Abuja-Keffi road and many paid exorbitant fare to get to their destination as operatives of the Nigerian Army mounted road block.

Our Correspondent who visited the road on Wednesday, reports that Workers who left homes as early as 5a.m for their respective working places are seen trapped inside their vehicles as at 10;20 a.m.

The correspondent observed that the chaotic situation has forced several people to abandon their vehicles, trekking several kilometers in order to meet up with appointments.

It was noted that the road was blocked at the Kugbo Mechanic Village section of the Abuja axis.

No reason has yet been offered for the return of road block against traffic that was suspended for more than two years ago.

Most of the commercial drivers who spoke with our correspondent lamented the sudden return of the military on the road and pleaded with government authorities to look into their plight

At the time of this report, the long queues of vehicles which started at Kugbo Mechanic Village, has reached Masaka near Keffi.

As expectedly, okada motorcycle riders have cashed in on the situation to make brisk business, charging as much as N1,000 to convey a passenger to Kugbo.

Our Correspondent gathered that the developmnt, which put the Troops On High Alert might not be unconnected with the report of alleged plan to attack Abuja, nation’s capital.
