Police net 2 suspected vandals in Kogi

The Police Command in kogi state says operatives attached to its Akpafa Division in Ogori Magongo Local Government Area of the state have arrested two suspects who specialise in vandalising electric power line equipment.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the command, DSP William Aya, disclosed this in a statement signed and sent to The Reporters in Lokoja on Saturday.

According to Aya, the operatives arrested the suspects while on a routine patrol at about 0430hrs, along Igarra- Edo-Okene road, where they intercepted a white Peugeot Boxer vehicle with Registration number KADUNA DKA 447 ZY.

The police image maker further disclosed that the vehicle was conveying RMU Transformer, three copper armoured cables with inscription BEDC EDO State with seven occupants at the time of the arrest.

He said:” It was further discovered that the same set of people passed through the route at about 1930hrs of 2/7/202.

“In the process, two suspects were arrested while others escaped into the bush. Preliminary investigation revealed that the items were stolen from Igara Area/Edo.

“Effort is being intensified to arrest other fleeing suspects While investigation is in progress.”
