November 6:Cleric calls for God-fearing governor, result-oriented governance in Anambra

As the people of Anambra State warm for November 6 Governorship Election to election a governor of their choice for the next political dispensation, they have been urged to elect somebody who would serve them, not for self aggradisement but ensure life for the people.

The Parish Priest, Anglican Church, Umuchu, Anambra State, Rev. Canon Onyebuchi Konisa, gave the advice while speaking with a correspondent of The Reporters in Umuchu recently.

The cleric,who noted that Anambra State election remainded a funny exercise, however, describedthe frontline aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Mr Godwin Ezeemo, as one aspirant in the heart of most people to become the next governor of the state.

Konisa,who commended Ezeemo for being a social enterprenuerial with many industries of about 20,000 employees from the state, described him as a man that loves his people and determined to uplift their lot, through people and result-oriented policies and programnes.

“He came into politics to lessen the burden of the less privileged in the state and not for personal aggradisement as we see now.

The cleric, who disclosed that Mr Ezeemo single handed built a church for the Anglican Church, Umuchu, among his philanthropic dispositions toward the people,prayed God to grant his heart desire in politics and I ither social and economic endeavours.

Mrs Vivian Ezeemo, who manages the aspirant’s filling station, computer as well as his business centere,all in Umuchu, described him as an entrepreneur “who is using his resources to uplift the downtrodden in the area.

“As his employee, he is paying me well, the salary enables to maintain a good life and be training my children two of who are now in the university presently. I am, indeed, grateful to this wonderful man of our time.

“If given chance to govern the state as the governor of Anambra state, he will change the narrative in our political system that not favoured the poor.

“His various companies; ranging from agriculture, oil and gas to hospitality industry in the state maens living wages for many workers and food on the table of thousands of homes.

In his contribution, Mr Ezenwa Kelechi, also described the 67-year-old aspirant as a man of principle with the love of the people of the state on top of his agenda, adding that if given the mandate to govern the people, they would not regret electing him.

“Mr Ezeemo is a humble and God-fearing man and if allowed to govern Anambra State, he will do wonder in putting smiles on the faces of many, particularly the poor in the society.
