Father to die by hanging for burying child alive

Nasiru Hamisu,a Ringim-based parent, is to die by hanging for burying his four-year-old daughter alive.

Justice Ahmed Mohammed Kazaure of Jigawa State High Court, sitting in Ringim,gave the verdict in his judgement on the henious crime preferred against Hamisu.

The Reporters recalls that Hamisu was arrested in 2020 based on the accusation of burying Zainab his biological child, in a shallow grave in his house.

Justice Kazaure, who said that the persecution counsel had proved his case beyond a reasonable doubt in the case, sentenced the convict accordingly.

During the trial the Prosecution counsel, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, who is the Attorney General of the State, presented three witnesses before the court–a medical doctor at Ringim General Medical Hospital, defendant’s father and the mother of the deceased and ex-wife of the defendant.
