Yuletide:Police assure kogi residents of adequate security, ban fire works

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Ede Ayuba Ekpeji,has assured members of the public in the state of the adequate security measures to ensure crime free atmosphere during Christmas and New celebrations in the State.

He gave the assurance made the statement while briefing the senior Officers of the Command at the Police State Headquarters, Lokoja, according to the statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), DSP. William Aya in Lokoja on Tuesday.

He directed the Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers as well as Operational Commanders to review their crime fighting strategies and increase visibility of Policemen to ensure peaceful Yuletide in Kogi State.

The Commissioner reiterated the ban on the use of fireworks during the festive period.

He advised parents and guardians to warn their Children and wards to stay away from knockouts, adding that Policemen across the State have been directed to arrest anyone who violates the order.

The Police boss further assured the public that the Police, in synergy with other security agencies in the State,were putting more efforts to ensure a peaceful festive period.

Ekpeji called all law abiding citizens to cooperate with the police to curtail any act of criminality in the state.
