Abdulrasheed Maina to reappear in court soon—-Police

The authorities of the Nigeria Police Force said they were perfecting extradition processes of Abdulrashid Abdullahi Maina, the former chairman,Pension Reform Task Team (PRTT) to Nigeria to enable him face trial in pending criminal proceedings against him.

DCP Frank MBA,Force Public Relations Officer,
Force Headquarters, ABUJA, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.

He recalled that Abdulrashid Maina, who was declared wanted by a court of competent jurisdiction,was arrested on November 30, 2020 in Niamey, Niger Republic.

Mba said the arrest of the furgitive was effected through the collaborative efforts of the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, INTERPOL NCB, Abuja and their Nigerien counterparts.

According to him, Maina is in a detention facility in Niger Republic awaiting the completion of the extradition processes.

He assured Nigerians that “there shall be no hiding place for any suspect, no matter how highly placed.”

The Reporters, an online media platform reports that EFCC had earlier arraigned the accused in court, on a 12-count charge bordering on fraud among others, amounting to N2 billion.
