NUJ submits Journalism Enhancement Bill to NASS soon-Isiguzo

The Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) says it is working on Journalism Enhancement bill to boost the welfare of journalists in the country.

The National President of the union, Mr Chris Isiguzo, disclosed this during a meeting with journalists in Ilorin as parts of activities marking his two- day official working visit to Kwara state.

He said the bill would be presented to the National Assembly as soon as the final draft is ready.

The NUJ chairman said the propised bill, when passed by the National Assembly and assented to by the President, would go a long way in enhancing the welfare of journalists in the country.

Isiguzo, who said that plans were on top gear to flush out quacks from the profession, sai the union had commenced data capturing process to ensure only those those qualified are registered as journalists.

Isiguzo urged members of the union to work together for the progress of the union.

He, however, assured all members of the union of the determination of leadership of the national body of the union to make the practice of the profession a lot much easier .
