Barr. Zacceaus Dare Michael, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress(APC) and member, Legal Committee for GYB Governorship campaign, has thrown his weight behind the ambition of Mr Tunji Aro to be elected as Chairman, Yagba West Local Government in the state.
Michael made his position known in a statement he issued in Lokoja on Monday.
Meanwhile, a reliable source told Duaglobalnews that council election had been scheduled to hold April this year, all things being equal.
“The need to accelerate the process of conducting local government poll in the state may have informed the recent names of members of the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) government sent to the state House of Assembly, for screening and confirmation,” he said.
Michael described the aspiration of Aro as coming at a better time, stressing that if given the mandate, “Aro will no doubt change the face of human capital development in Yagba West Local Government.”

The chieftain assured that Aro’s government, if allowed to see the light of the day, would turn around the agriculture sector of the area and improve the well-being of youths and women, through result-oriented empowerment programme.

According to him, workers of the council will have a better deal in terms of improved welfare package where prompt payment of their salaries and other employments will be of paramount importance in the agenda of Aro-led administration.

Michael disclosed that Aro left N89million in the coffers of the council under the SURE – P account when he was the council chairman.

The party chieftain, who described Aro as an epitome of transparency and accountability, urged the people to see his aspiration as people-oriented with a lot of goodies for the area.
