Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state has warned Heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and members of his cabinet against inflating cost of projects and contracts.

He gave the warning on Monday in Lokoja while declaring open, 2-Day Induction, Orientation and Policy Absorption Workshop for members of his cabinet and other political office holders in Lokoja on Monday.

The governor further admonished that over bloated contracts, padding of projects and all other financial demands from the MDAs would not be acceptable by his government.

“Anyone found padding proposals will be shown the way out of the government, he admonished.

He said heads of MDAs must endeavour to scrutinise their proposals, diligently, before submitting them to his table for approval.

On improved revenue generation, the governor also warned that any MDA found drawing funds from the state government without corresponding added value to the system would not have a place in his administration.

The governor, however, reiterated the commitment of his administration to ensure the overall infrastructural development of the state.

Bello told the participants that his second term administration would be about the people of kogi state, and such, every member of his team must be ready to carry out his or her responsibilities selflessly.

He promised that all ongoing projects in the state would be completed within the next 16 months, in addition to new projects being embarked upon.
