A Cleric, Malam Musa Bello, has urged Muslims to continuing to imbibe the spirit of love, unity and appreciation of one another in their relationship with others in the society.

He gave the advice in his sermon at Gadumo praying ground before the observation of the two Rakat prayer to make this year Eid-el-Kabir festival, marked by Muslims all over the world.

Bello stressed that Prophet Mohammed practised love, unity and other cherished values with all those he came across in his sourjourn, in accordance with the tenent of Islamic tradition.

According to him, it becomes imperative for Muslims to emulate the good deeds of the Prophet by loving and extending gesture to neighbours, especially the less privilege in the society.

“Even without love, you cannot share part of the ram you slaughtered, mark the Sallah festival, with your fellow Muslims not to talk of adherents of other religion.

He described love and unity as the oil that lubricate the wheel of meaningful relationship to ensure peace and development in any society.

The religious leader reminded the Muslims the fact that this year Sallah coincided with Friday made much more significant event and eloquent avenue for Muslims to use to cultivate much lasting and mutually benefitting relationship with neighbours.

He called on the Muslim wives to show understanding and co-operate with their husbands in celebrating the festival and the general financial management of their homes.

Bello such behaviour was necessary in view of the down turn in the nation’s economy, especially occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“If your husband has been buying new clothes for the family for the celebration of Sallah and could not make it to the expection of the family this year due to economic reality of the day, I urge the wives to reason with him.

“She should be prayerful and optimistic that next year will be better,”he said.

He advised the people to stop dumping waste at the cemetery, adding that as the last resting house for every mortal, cemetery should be made clean at all time.
