Senator Sadiku Abubakar Ohere, has commiserated with the Kogi State Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, on the passing of his father, late Alhaji Asiru Ijagbemi.
In his condolence message, signed by him,a copy of which was made available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Monday,Senator Ohere described the late Ijagbemi as more than a father figure.
He noted that the deceased was a community pillar, a spiritual guide, and a man of quiet dignity whose values and legacy continue to live on in his children and those whose lives he touched.
He said:”While death is a certainty, we must all accept that its sting is never dulled, especially when it takes from us a symbol of wisdom and unwavering love.
” In this moment of grief, I urge the entire Asiru family to take solace in the fruitful and impactful life their patriarch lived.
“A man whose legacy is already evident in the person of his son Asiwaju Idris, whose integrity, work ethic, and compassion for the people of Kogi, are no doubt products of a firm and purposeful upbringing.
“Let us not mourn as those without hope. Instead, let us celebrate a life well spent in devotion to God, to family, and to humanity. May Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds, and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
“To my brother, Asiwaju, I say this: in the quiet moments of reflection, remember that your father lives on not only in memory but in every noble act you carry out, every life you uplift, and every prayer you utter in his name.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the good people of Kogi Central, I offer you our prayers and our shoulders to lean on during this solemn time.
“May the soul of Alhaji Asiru Ijagbemi find eternal rest.”
