The Kogi Central Council of Elders has extended heartfelt condolences to the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, over the death of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, who passed away on Monday in Abuja at the age of 83.

In a condolence message signed by the Chairman of the Council, Adai Steven J. Yakubu, and made available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Thursday, the elders expressed deep grief over the loss and prayed for the peaceful repose of the deceased.

“It is our fervent prayer that the Almighty Allah grants him His mercies, forgives his shortcomings, and admits him into Aljanatul Firdaus,” the statement read.

The Council also prayed for strength and fortitude for the Governor and his family to bear the irreparable loss, urging them to take solace in the fact that their patriarch lived a life of inspiration and left enduring legacies worthy of emulation.

The elders expressed delight that the late Alhaji Momohsani Ododo produced children of integrity, particularly Governor Ododo, whose leadership, they noted, is already having a positive impact in Kogi State.

They further acknowledged that the wise counsel of the late Ododo contributed greatly to the development of the state and urged the Governor to continue to uphold such values.

Members of the council assured Governor Ododo of their unwavering support for his administration to ensure its success.

Our correspondent in Okene reports that preparations for the third day prayer for the repose soul of the deceased, on Thursday, has commenced at the residence of the governor in Okene as at the time of this report at about 9.40 a.m.

Many people from all strata of the society are expected to attend.
