Controversial Nigerian hip-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has been remanded at the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, Kwara State, over his failure to meet strict bail conditions set by the court.

The singer, known for his wild persona and online outbursts, was earlier arraigned before an Upper Area Court on Monday, April 14, on multiple charges, including criminal defamation, cyberstalking, inciting public disturbance, and intimidation. His arrest on Sunday.
This followed a formal petition by fellow musician, Okunola Saheed, aka Osupa, who accused Portable of making damaging allegations against him in a viral Instagram live video.

In the video, which circulated widely online on March 19, 2025, Portable was seen accusing Osupa of sabotaging his career and pulling down his songs from streaming platforms. He allegedly said:

“This man dey try bring down my shine! He be like person wey dey chop snail with shell—him no get sense. Osupa na tortoise. When Apple Music and Spotify wan drop money for me, na him remove my song from platform make I no see money.”

Police investigators from the State Intelligence Department confirmed that the singer confessed to the allegations during interrogation.

Though the court granted him bail at ₦1 million with two sureties—one being a PMAN official and the other a property owner in Ilorin GRA with a valid C of O,Portable failed to meet the stringent conditions and was therefore transferred to Oke Kura prison pending compliance.

He is being prosecuted under multiple laws, including Sections 392, 114, and 397 of the Penal Code; Sections 24(1)(b) and 24(2)(c) of the Cybercrimes Act, 2015; and Sections 10 and 13 of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Law, 2020.

The trial judge adjourned the case and urged decorum from all parties as legal proceedings continue. Until he meets the bail terms, Portable will remain behind bars in the historic Ilorin prison.
