The Management of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, led by the Rector, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, has commiserated with His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, the Obaro of Kabba, over the demise of his beloved wife, Olori Maria Ige Owoniyi.
During a condolence visit to the palace on Tuesday in Kabba, Kogi State, Professor Usman described the late Olori as a woman of grace and impact, whose legacy of service to the community would remain indelible.
He praised her unwavering commitment to community development, her compassion for humanity, and her dedication to uplifting the lives of the people of Kabba and Okun land.
The Rector prayed for divine strength and comfort for the monarch, the royal family, and the entire Kabba Kingdom.
Responding on behalf of the Kabba Area Traditional Council and the Okun Traditional Council, His Royal Highness, Oba Lawrence Funsho Ayinmiro, the Olu of Iluke, expressed profound gratitude to the Rector and his team for their visit.
He acknowledged the strong relationship between Kogi State Polytechnic and the Kabba Kingdom, appreciating the institution’s continuous support for the community’s growth.
In a spirit of shared grief, Oba Ayinmiro also extended condolences to Kogi State Polytechnic over the recent passing of Barrister William Ameh, a member of the institution’s management.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of both departed souls and urged the Polytechnic and the Kabba Kingdom to draw strength from their cherished memories of Olori Maria Ige Owoniyi and Barr. William Ameh.
Accompanying the Rector on the visit were all the principal officers of the Polytechnic and the Chief Security Officer, Mr. Emmanuel Onuh Attah.
