The Commissioner of Police (CP) for Kogi State, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has reaffirmed his commitment to collaborative policing and community engagement in the state.

He stated this when he received multiple high-profile delegations, where he underscored his vision for a safer Kogi State.

The day began with a visit from leaders of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Lokoja District Church Council (DCC), led by DCC Chairman, Rev. Dr. Frank Paul.

The religious delegation offered fervent prayers for CP Dantawaye’s success and pledged their support in providing vital information to aid security efforts across the state.

They also encouraged the CP to replicate the exceptional leadership he demonstrated in Benin City, further highlighting their confidence in his ability to strengthen Kogi’s security.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovie Aya, confirmed in a statement that CP Dantawaye also received a delegation from the regional office of telecommunications giant Globacom (Glo).

Led by Regional Manager Mr. Mohammed, the delegation discussed the critical role of telecommunications in security operations.

Glo extended its commitment to provide essential network services, ensuring seamless communication and connectivity within the police force.

A key highlight of the day was the visit from the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), Kogi State Chapter.
Led by State Coordinator Mr. Austin Tantoluwa, POCACOV presented CP Dantawaye with a bold message: “To all criminals in Kogi State, to repent or relocate – there’s a new sheriff in town.”

This powerful gesture resonated with CP Dantawaye’s firm stance on eradicating crime and promoting peace within the state.

The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), led by Dr. Mrs. Dantawaye, also paid a visit to the Kogi State Police Command.

The Chairperson called for greater involvement from senior officers’ wives in the association’s activities, while pledging full support for a smooth tenure for CP Dantawaye.

In response, the CP emphasized the importance of empowering women through skills acquisition programmes and economic initiatives to improve the welfare of officers’ families.

Later in the day, CP Dantawaye visited the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice Josiah Majebi, and senior judicial officers.

Justice Majebi praised the CP as a “peculiar and special leader,” noting that the overwhelming presence of dignitaries was a testament to his leadership qualities.

He stressed the need for police officers to undergo legal training to ensure due process in handling criminal cases and advised a closer partnership with the state government to ensure a safer environment for Kogi residents.

In his response, CP Dantawaye expressed gratitude for the warm reception and assured the judiciary of his commitment to establishing legal training platforms for officers to enhance their understanding of the law.

He reiterated his dedication to justice, security, and cooperation with all stakeholders to guarantee a peaceful Kogi State.
