Prof.Jeremiah Ojediran Vice-Chancellor of Bells University of Technology,Ota ,Ogun State, on Saturday said that 91 students of the Institution bagged First Class Honours in the 2023/2024 academic session.
Ojediran said this during the 16th Convocation ceremony for the Conferment of Honorary Degrees and award of Higher Degrees, and presentation of prizes in Ota
According to him, 969 students graduated for the 2023/2024 academic session.
This comprised 91 students who made first class, 505 second class upper honours, 313 second class lower, third class 60 and 220 in the post-graduate categories
Sally Farouk emerged as the best overall best students from the Department of Architecture with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 4.94.
Ojediran said that the institution was a community education system sets out to proffer best solutions from collective knowledge, shared experiences and resources,recognising that education is a lifelong activity.
The vice-chancellor lauded the staff for their cooperation and dedication towards giving the students quality education.
“You have joined hands with the management of the institution to work this fertile ground and the mainstay of our achievements.”the VC said.
Also,Prof.Bart Nnaji,the Pro-Chancellor of the institution said that Bells University of Technology was the first private university of technology in Nigeria established in 2005.
Nnaji said that the institution had made remarkable achievements in teaching and research as part of its vision to contribute to the growth and development of the country.
“Let me also congratulate the graduating students who have distinguished themselves through their hard work and discipline and are being rewarded today.”he said.
In his Goodwill Message ,the Chancellor of the institution,Dr Ibrahim Dankwambo,commended former President,Olusegun Obasanjo for his immense contribution to education development in the country.
Dankwambo congratulated former Executive Secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof.Peter Okebukola and Mr Temitope Shonubi, Executive Director,Sahara Group,for the honorary degrees bestowed on them by the university.
Prof.Okebukola and Temitope were conferred with honorary degrees by Bells University of Technology for their services to humanity and outstanding pedigrees.
