The Nigerian Guild of Editors, (NGE), has announced that its annual conference will take place from November 7 to 9, 2024, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

General Secretary,NGE, disclosed this in a statement he signed and a copy available to The Reporters in Lokoja on Monday.
He said that this year’s All Nigeria Editors Conference (ANEC) would be chaired by Prince Nduka Obaigbena, Chairman/Editor-In-Chief of THISDAY/Arise Media Group, and opened by Vice-President Alhaji Kashim Shettima.
According to the NGE scribe,Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri would serve as Chief Host, with former Ogun State Governor Chief Segun Osoba and Vanguard Media Group Founder Sam Amuka as special guests.
“The conference will address pressing economic challenges and media sustainability.
Despite ongoing reforms since May 2023, Nigeria faces high poverty rates, limited opportunities, and a weak human capital index.
The NGE emphasized the need for comprehensive policies to address both short-term and long-term issues.
Experts from various sectors—including energy, security, and media—are invited to discuss strategies for overcoming these challenges and ensuring sustainable development, he added.
The conference will take place over three days: Thursday, November 7th, Friday, November 8th, and Saturday, November 9th. Attendees are expected to arrive on Wednesday, November 6th, and depart on Sunday, November 10th, the NGE said.
