The Police Command in Kogi state says it has arrested some “notorious criminals” terrorising the people of the state.
The Command’s public relations officer, DSP William Aya, disclosed this in a release he made available to journalists in Lokoja on Tuesday.
He said the arrest was part of continuous onslaught against kidnapping, banditry and other heinous crimes in the state, embarked upon by the command.
According to him, the effort has yielded positive results due to the crime prevention and control strategies adopted by the Command, through intensive patrol and raiding of identified criminal hideouts in the state.
Aya also identified efforts by the operatives attached to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) Kogi as another factor responsible for the fishing out of “yet another harvest of criminal elements.”
He added that intelligence led to the arrest of 10 suspected criminal elements.

MOHAMMED YAKUBU
SEKPE SAMSON
EMMANUEL GWATANA.
Items seized from the suspects,who inclu ritualists, he, said are:”ONE LOCALLY MADE PISTOL
ONE CUT TO SIZE LOCALLY MADE SINGLE BARREL GUN
SEVEN LIVE CARTRIDGES
SOME OF THE VICTIMS’ PROPERTIES.”
“On the 29/4/2020 at about 1100hrs, following a report received that some unknown armed robbers invaded and robbed some houses in Adavi and carted away their properties.
” The operatives promptly swung into action and arrested one Ibrahim Saliu of Etahi village, Okene who has been terrorizing Okene and its environs.
” Further investigation led to the arrest of the duo of Jimoh Yakubu and Isah Usman, both of Okene.
” The suspects confessed to crime. Items recovered from them include; one locally made Pistol, one cut to size locally made single Barrel gun, seven live cartridges and some the victims properties.
“Consequent upon a report that some unknown thieves broke into their victim’s a house and carted away with his Infinix Android Phone, the operatives attached to SARS swung into action and arrested one Hassan Adedoyin Bashiru of Agbaja Village and recovered the stolen hand set.
“Following a tip-off on the activities of ritualists within Ajaokuta axis, the operatives attached to SARS through an intelligence led operations arrested another suspects with human skull,” Aya said.
