Nigeria’s recent designation and protection of Critical National Information Infrastructure (CNII) will significantly enhance the quality of telecom services in the country.

Dr. Bosun Tijani, Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, said this in his verified social media account on Wednesday .

He, therefore , commended the President,Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the official gazette ,titled “Designation and Protection of Critical National Information Infrastructure Order, 2024.”

Dr. Tijani emphasized that this measure remains crucial for safeguarding investments in the ICT sector, adding that it would reduce incidents that could disrupt technological systems and infrastructure.

The new law, Tijani, added, is capable of addressing the intentional damage to key assets, such as telecom towers, switch stations, and e-government platforms.

He assured that the protection of CNII is a top priority for the administration, to improve the Quality of Service (QoS) and Quality of Experience (QoE) for consumers.

The Minister reassured of the administration’s commitment to creating a supportive environment for the digital economy’s growth.
