Mr.Otori Ozigi.
In a heartfelt plea, Mr. Otori Ozigi, a veteran journalist from Kogi State, has appealed passionately to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider the administration’s decision to eliminate fuel subsidy.
His appeal, delivered in Ihima and conveyed in a statement to The Reporters in Lokoja on Wednesday, emphasizes the urgent need to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians, amidst the removal of fuel subsidy.
Ozigi highlighted the profound economic distress gripping the nation, lamenting the escalating food prices and socioeconomic challenges faced by ordinary citizens.
He stressed the urgent necessity for the federal government to confront and resolve this economic crisis decisively.
Furthermore, Ozigi called upon President Tinubu to move beyond assurances and take concrete steps to mitigate the harsh realities exacerbated by the subsidy removal.
He said that experience has shown that the assurances have not adequately addressed the dire needs of the vast majority of Nigerians who are grappling “with acute hunger and poverty”.
