(Update)Kidnapped religious leader in Kogi regains freedom-Police.

The Chief Imam of Iyara Central Mosque in Ijumu Local Government Area of kogi state, north central Nigeria,Alhaji Qosim Musa, who was kidnapped recruiter has regained his freedom.

The Police Public Relations Officer,PPRO, for the Police Command in the state,SP William Ovie Aya, disclosed this in one paragraph statement he sent to The Reporters in Lokoja on Saturday.

He said ,”This is to inform you that, the Chief Imam of Iyara central Mosque Alhaji Qosim,who was earlier kidnapped regained his freedom yesterday night.”
Our correspondent recalls that the chief imam was kidnapped by unknown gunmen March 25, 2024 at his house,Ilukpa, Iyara headquarters of Ijumu Local Government Area.

The gunmen were said to have stormed his house, shooting sporadically to the air to scare away people before taking him to an unknown destination.
