Spread the love

Most youths in Lokoja, Kogi State, north central Nigeria,on Wednesday, jettisoned sending love messages to one another during Valentine day.
This they did in self style arrangement as they used the day to ponder over the current economic quagmire, characterized by high cost of living, hunger and deprivation, insecurity unemployment among others in Nigeria at large.
They called on the federal and state governments to find lasting solution to social and economic challenges confronting Nigeria.
The 8th-century Gelasian Sacramentary recorded the celebration of the Feast of Saint Valentine on February 14.
The day became associated with romantic love in the 14th and 15th centuries, when notions of courtly love flourished, apparently by association with the “lovebirds” of early spring according to Wikipedia.
