The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), has appealed to customers with any grievances to report to the appropriate channels rather than resorting to violence.
Mr Kingsley Achife, Chief Executive Officer(CEO) of IBEDC, made the appeal in a statement made available to journalists in Ota on Friday.
Achife enjoined customers not to assault IBEDC staff,stressing that their commitments and hard work were essential for quality service delivery by the organization.
He, however, admonished the company’s customers to refrain from theft of equipment, reminding them that it endangered lives and hampered collective progress.
The IBEDC boss also urged customers to exercise caution in the usage of electricity, pointing out that festive season always experience increase in electrical hazards.
He said they could do this by avoiding unsafe practices; such as unauthorized tampering with meters or attempting to bypass the electrical system.
“The management of IBEDC, felicitates with all christian faithful on the commemoration of the birth of Jesus Christ and wish all Nigerians a Happy Christmas and New Year Holiday,” Achife said.
The IBEDC boss emphasised the values of unity and goodwill, especially during Christmas, callef on IBEDC customers to join hands with the organization in fostering a secured and harmonious environment.
“IBEDC reiterates its commitment to providing seamless services during the holiday season while the technical team will be on standby to address any electrical faults, promptly.
“Christmas is a time for joy and reflection. Let us not compromise the safety of ourselves and others by engaging in activities that could lead to electrical hazards.
“The company’s customer care line (07001239999) will remain active for quick responses to complaints and reports.
“In the light of the festive celebrations, the customers with any grievances should communicate through appropriate channels, rather than resorting to violence.
“We also encourage our customers to utilise IBEDC ‘s hassle-free payment channels, including iRecharge, Quickteller, Payarena, Jumia, Watu, Buypower, and ATMs, for convenient bill settlement and vending to enjoy uninterrupted supply during the holiday.” he said.
Achife added that IBEDC’s offices would also remain open during the holiday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to serve customers efficiently.
