,,,The success story of tax administration in Kogi state.
It is noteworthy that good things are happening in Kogi State Internal Revenue Service,GIRS, under the watch of a competent, capable, innovative and visionary Executive Chairman, Alhaji Sule Salihu Enehe ,in the last couple of years.
Since his assumption of office, he has been able to deploy innovative and technology-driven mechanism to galvanize increased revenue collection and human capital utilization in the service, which has translated into unprecedented IGR performance.
From a paltry N250 million, monthly, IGR that preceded the coming to office of GYB, the IGR of the state now stands at averagely N1.5 billion monthly.
The figure collated for this year stands at over N23 billion,an appreciable improvement on the N18 billion recorded in 2022.
The Executive Chairman is an advocate of tax administration in Kogi state with human face.
Kogites are now willingly coming forward to file in their tax papers without prompting, because of the enabling environment put in place by the Enehe-led dynamic and result-oriented management.
From all variables considered, better days are ahead for efficient and effective tax regime in the state.
