One of the elders of the association,who is one time, Deputy president, ABU, Zaria, north central Nigeria,Dr.Abdul Denja, in his speech,commended the electoral committee members for a good job and electorate for peaceful manner.

He appealed to members to cooperate with the new execute members to move the association forward to endure the realization of the desired level.
Dr. Denja commended constants that stepped down for others out of volition.
Our correspondent reports that only the position of secretary was contested for while the positions were unopposed.
Few minutes before commencement of the election,one of the contestants for chairmanship position,Mal.Garba Bako, announce his stepping down for Engr.Mohammed Sagir.

The chairman of the electoral committee, Alhaji Adama Yahaya,commended members of the committee for their cooperation.
One of the pioneer members of the association Alhaji Abdulkarim Mustapha Allahdey, urged members to return the tradition the association is known for by according respect to elders while the elders should also respect the youth in the association for peaceful relationship.
At the end of the contest for secretary, Mal.Aminu Yahaya Maihakuri won by 64 votes to defeat Mal.Saidu Mohammed scored 18 votes.
Speaking at the occasion, the secretary general(worldwide),ABU Alumni Association,Dr. Danjuma Mahmud,described the election as most peaceful and transparent and called on politicians to learn from ABU alumni association members’conduct during the exercise.

In his acceotance speech, Engr. Sagir, promised not to betray the confidence members reposed on him and members of his council,adding they would change the narrative in the association for the better.
Our correspondent reports that votes cast which is 83 equalled 83 votes ,being the total votes for the election.
