The Tinubu/ Shetima APC presidential campaign rally, which came up in Lokoja, Kogi State on Wednesday as been described as a great boost to the micro economic activities, especially among petty traders in the area.

This constitutes the general remarks of many petty traders who took their goods and services to the state stadium located at Gen.Usman Katsina road, Lokoja, venue of the rally for sale.

In a separate interview with our Correspondent, sellers of soft drinks biscuits, sachet water, sweets, ornaments,APC suvenirs all agreed that the rally manifested in bumper sales and appreciable profit for them.

“What a boost to my trade today. I made a sale of almost N10,000, selling soft drinks and pure water, this translate to appreciable profit as well.

“How I wish this type of event can be a regular exercise in lokoja,”Mrs Josephine Nwachukwu told our correspondent at the venue.

She called on APC to ensure a people-oriented economic policy and programme that would change the current dull economic climate of the country, especially for those at the lower level of the society, if given the mandate to govern the country again in the next political dispensation.

Speaking with the mammoth crowd at the event, Asiwaju Tinubu assured Nigerians that they would not regret voting for him in the February 25, presidential election and other polls.

He promised to resucitate the Ajaokuta Steel project to enable thousands of youths roaming the streets, especially in Kogi State, get jobs to effectively check unemployment, crime and criminality among other problems confronting the country.

Tinubu, who described Kogi State as Nigeria’s solid mineral centre, also promised that his governnent would explore such rich and abundant natural resources to better the lot of its people and the country at large.

The APC presidential candidate added that he would rejig the nation’s economy with the best of policy and efficient programme to put pay to the suffering of the people.

Tinubu expressed delight over the large turn out of people to receive him and his entourage and urged them to translate the love they have for him and APC by coming out enmasse and vote massively for him and other candidates seeking electíve offices on the platform of APC.

He, however, reminded Nigerians that the good policy and programme of his administration for Nigeria would not materialise unless they vote for him and other APC candidates in other lined up electíons in the country, starting from February 25. Other electíons apart from that of the president are; Senate and House of Representatives down the ladder.

The APC presidential candidate expressed sympathy with Nigerians over the naira and fuel scarcity and the attendant harship on the people, assuring them that if given the mandate, such problem would be effectively tackled.

Welcoming Tinubu and his entourage to the crowd-pulling occasion, the Governor of the state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, assured him that Kogi State voters would vote massively for him and other candidates of the party in all the electíons coming up.
